Life in Walnut Class

The Year 6 topic on deforestation gave rise to some great discussions about environmental issues affecting us all and many questions were asked concerning the morality of those who have the power to do something about these issues. The children were very animated and interested and threw themselves wholeheartedly into the work.

Great fun and games were had by all during the World Book Day as children were treated to story-telling by teachers from throughout the school, chilling out in pyjamas. Year 6 children also celebrated the 40th anniversary of Red Nose Day! Dressed in red, they had a colourful day and helped raise vital money for a great cause.

During Science Week, the Year 6 children were treated to the expertise of three very different and inspiring scientists. Children learnt about their diverse careers within science and the many opportunities that have been open to them over the years.
