Life in Hazel Class
This term, the Year 6 children have thrown themselves into the topic “volcanoes” producing a wide range of exciting and interesting work based around the volcanic eruption of Mount St Helens in 1980. Their commitment to this work has been second to none. They have explored the wide-ranging volcanic types and researched the impact they have on landscape and communities. The volcano element has also been explored through our PE unit of dance. Within this, the children have worked in groups to create a dance.
In music, the glockenspiels and Google Chrome Lab have been present as the children have been introduced to jazz and the concept of improvisation. They have played confidently, memorising the musical score.
Year 6 have also been studying the artist Kandinsky.
