Life in Lilac Class
Year 3 began their Get Set Go topic by having a debate in English about whether junk food should be allowed in schools. They demonstrated that they could think of many different reasons, both for and against, and were able to use a variety of persuasive language in order to articulate their ideas to their peers. From this, they have developed their use of written persuasive language techniques to persuade people to choose their food responsibly to reduce the environmental impact of their choices.
In Geography this term, we have looked at where our food comes from and the impact of purchasing and eating foods from across the globe. We learnt about certain foods being grown at certain times of the year and how we can buy and eat fruit and vegetables in season - grown in our country to save causing more pollution to our world. Thank you to everyone who brought in food packaging to add to our classroom displays.
We enjoyed Science Week this term and met some fantastic scientists which inspired us! From tennis balls to animal habitats, it was amazing to see where learning science could take us and this supported our science topic of Animals including Humans!
We have had a fantastic term in Year 3, thank you to all the children for their hard work and determination!
