Life in Alder Class

We have had such an amazing term ‘stepping back in time’ to Prehistoric Britain. We have learnt about how life changed from the Stone Age, through to the Bronze Age and into the Iron Age. Our topic day was a great success. The children used their creativity to produce some amazing dioramas of prehistoric life. Thank you for all of your amazing costumes - we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the children wearing them with pride! We were also able to enjoy learning a new Stone Age themed song, creating cave paintings on sand paper and making chocolate rocks.  A very memorable day, indeed!

We were lucky enough to have a visitor from Coram Life Education (The company who provide our PSHE scheme of learning called SCARF). The children learnt some valuable life skills about how to keep their bodies and minds healthy.

The children are very proud to have designed a hanging Christmas decoration. They took time and perseverance to sew their unique designs with a range of embroidery stitches. Hopefully they will hang with pride in your houses over the festive period for years to come!

We have been overwhelmed by the children’s participation and enthusiasm with learning their words and songs for our Christmas performance. We are sure that you will agree that all of their hard work has paid off!
